Information for CSM Faculty on Novel Coronavirus

This page will be updated as information changes.

Last Updated: April 21, 2020

Faculty should follow the same protocols as all other employees and should notify their division chairs as soon as possible if they are not able to work.

Notice: Campus access is restricted to authorized personnel only with specific justifications to continue critical operations of the College. Requests for access must be approved by the Division Vice President. Bill Comey and Bill Bessette are the only individuals authorized to grant access to campus. To request access for critical operations, please complete this form:

INSTRUCTION: Class, Lab, Clinical Placements, Distance Learning

All lecture-based, in-person and hybrid classes will move fully online until August 16 or until further notice. The College may need to extend/shorten the semester as necessary and reserves the right to do so.  Faculty should be as accommodating as possible for students who have technology challenges. Zoom (available on a phone), phone calls, emails, etc. are encouraged.

All in-person classes and labs have been moved online. Faculty must make alternative arrangements for achieving learning outcomes and fulfilling time requirements during the reduced operations period. Some material can be moved online; other material will need to be made up in extended hours at the end of the semester. Faculty will inform students of how those will be made up, based on departmental guidance.

The Distance Learning Team has provided an online module/folder for faculty that is specific to this situation. It is located in the Faculty Resources 101 site on myLearning, under the first tab after the table of contents. This module contains faculty resources and information to share with students.

Adjunct faculty should work with their chairs and coordinators to ensure that expected material gets posted. Much of the work should already be done; however, adjuncts should reach out to their chairs if they have any questions.

An updated resource sheet is available on the website for students to be able to access information about the IT Help Desk, myLearning, and online availability for tutoring.

Faculty should let their chairs and VPAA know immediately about any sick students.
