CSM.TXT is a way to receive emergency notifications and other news with your cell phone via text messages. You can also get messages via e-mail. The service is completely voluntary and you may select to receive specific categories of information.
No, you do not. You can still access emergency information via the Closing Hotline (301-369-1999 or toll free 1-800-650-4023) or via the CSM Web site at www.csmd.edu/emergency.
It is free to register for CSM.TXT. All cell phone text message fees will apply. Contact your service provider for more information.
Anyone can sign up to receive CSM.TXT messages including, students, parents, faculty, staff, spouses, and others.
CSM will only send information that you request to receive. If you only want to receive emergency information about campus operations (such as closings, delays, internet interruptions or other similar types of incidents), please do not select any other types of messages.
