The College of Southern Maryland's Emergency Operations Plan identifies the College's emergency planning, organization, and response policies and procedures. The plan also addresses the integration and coordination with other governmental levels when required.
This plan is based on the functions and principles of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) which is based on the Incident Command System (ICS), and identifies how the College fits in the overall structure during an incident.
The plan addresses how the College will respond to extraordinary events or disasters, from preparation through recovery. The College of Southern Maryland's Emergency Operations Plan has been approved by the President's Council and signed by the President. The College's Emergency Management Advisory Group, under the direction of the General Counsel, is responsible for reviewing the entire plan on an annual basis, and coordinating the revision of the plan as required.
